Sock it to me Baby!

I finished the second sock and now have a PAIR.  How exciting is that?  I’m not thrilled with the Wick yarn.  I had painfully obvious ladders in the first sock, so I knit in the back for the first stitch on every needle on the second sock and instead of ladders, I had lumps.  Oh well, live and learn.  I’m going to make them again for myself in Cascade Fixation, which I am told is very springy and hides ladders.  We shall see.   No pictures, camera batteries need to be recharged.

In any event, now that the gift socks are complete, I can go on to something else.  I’ve spent 2 hours today deleting most of the 3500 emails in my inbox.  Yes, THIRTY-FIVE HUNDRED emails.  I’ve unsubscribed from the ones I will never read and deleted thousands en masse without even reading them.  I’m so proud of myself.

Then I started looking at blogs again, which I haven’t done in a long time, and I am seriously motivated to start stitching again.  So that is what I will be doing this evening after the wee one goes to bed. But for now, it’s dinner time and then we’re off to the dairy bar for a chocolate covered soft-serve cone.  I love summer.

Stinky Pinkies

This is what we call Max’s feet, especially after a warm day in socks and sneakers. Pee eew stinky pinkies!

Isn’t it beautiful? Now on to the second one. These are a much belated birthday gift for my Aunt. I am always making belated gifts. I could go to a store and BUY a gift on time, but where is the love in that? I noticed halfway through this sock that it is in the same colorway as the birthday gift I gave her last year:

I think I’ll tell her that I planned it that way . . .
